As far as I understand, the pinning is because kcl-lib and kcl-test-server versions need to correspond. Also, kcl-lib doesn't properly depend on the right versions of its dependencies, like kcl-error. The bumper bin in modeling-app isn't smart enough to increase them every time we release it.

Pinning here forces us to manually bump them both when we upgrade kcl-lib. The release instructions in the readme in this repo explain the steps.

I'd love if we could fix all this.

yeah I guess if they need to correspond exactly we should switch to major version releases. then every release would require a bump.
